Living in a dream

Daydream Island, Whitsundays
We lived a dream on Daydream island for four days.  It was like being on a stationary, very expensive cruise ship.  The whole island was about a km, but it had everything you could want, swimming pools, nice restaurants, a hiking trail with views, and even wildlife, some very cute wallabies and giant rat things (bandicoot?)  It was definitely a relaxing resort.  A good way to start winding down our trip.  While Nathan could rest by the pool, I could spend hours walking the beach and looking at shells and coral.
The second day we were there we realized how small the world is when, at the breakfast bar, we ran into Richard who lives in the UK, we met when we were on the same trip in Africa two years ago!  No way!  Nathan knew he was travelling Australia at the same time we were, but had no idea we would happen to be at the same resort (on a 1km island!). We spent a very nice day with him and his girlfriend Naomi  before they had to depart.
We took one day from our time there and took a boat out to the Great Barrier Reef where we did two dives.  We enjoyed the trip that catered everything you might want.  This time on the first dive we saw two turtles, with a third siting on the boat before we went on our second dive.  The first dive we were swimming hard against a strong current, and ran out of air quickly.  The second dive was easier and had great visibility!  I saw a sea pike, and all sorts of weird and wonderful underthesea creatures.
