Yorkey's Knob
What to say about this place? We got a cool apartment, tricked out like a fully functional house, right on the beach. Otherwise Yorkey's Knob is just a small town, the only reason we came was to kiteboard.
Poor Nathan has been looking forward to learning how to kite board since we started planning this trip. Well, we learned all of the theory and practicalities, but never got to actually try it, because the wind was oddly absent. He is already planning a trip back to continue his lesson. This disappointment has started us listing our disappointments on this trip, there have actually been quite a few, mostly due to weather and some due to spraining my ankle, eg; storm at Tongariro, too much wind at Byron Bay to dive, and now not enough here to kiteboard. It's making us wonder if we made some errors in planning our trip, by not allowing enough cushion time around the activities we wanted to do, but really there was so much we wanted to do that it was hard to squeeze it all in, even in the 8 weeks. We are thankful and happy with our trip, realizing we are very blessed to be able to do it, despite the unfortunate times.
